Luca sat in the
Slytherin common room, watching as the others walked by and gave him a few
dirty looks from his fraternizing with Granger and Weasley. He continued his
studies, cursing his Arithmancy books.
"This is
impossible. How am I supposed to learn this when we use..," He stopped
himself and peered up, a few of the more curious stopped to listen, the secrets
of the Gypsies had an enticement to many. He drew himself out of the chair and
shot a feirce glare at many who backed up, one tripping over a first year, who
cried out "Evil Eye!"
Luca stormed up to
his bed and began to write to his family, how he should be at Durmstrang, to be
closer to them, and away from all this You-Know-Who business that ran deep in
the hearts of all. He took off his robe, putting on his dark vest, schluffing
off his tie, and stretched out on his bed. He pulled his chains and charms from
under his shirt, letting the gold and silver shimmer in the midday sun.
Luca folded his
letter, and opened up a drawer, sealing it shut with a wax stamp, and rubbing a
clove of garlic along the edges as well. Some called him a superstitious fool,
but his letters never seemed to get delayed in the post, even arriving early
for the most part.
Moonstone walked out,
wand in his belt, strolling onto the grounds, as if asking for trouble... he
seemed to have a knack at baiting the teachers to anger with his manner of
dress, outright refusing at times to keep to the dress code, storming past
staff and student to the Owlery.
Promise was walking back from her ride (she has a
winged horse there) when she spotted Luca walking to the Owlery. Of course she
had been lost in her own little world, fondly referred to as 'Promise Land' by
herself, and didn't actually notice him until he was two feet away.
She gasped, startled, and lost her composure and footing for a moment. She
found herself nearly crashing to the ground, throwing Charm (her winged cat)
off of her shoulder. Luckily Charm was blessed with those pretty black wings of
hers, and she spread them, catching herself just as Promise managed to regain
her balance. She came diving back at Promise, scolding in angry peeps and
mewls.
Promise took a breath and smoothed her frazzled nerves, once again looking
composed. She smiled a little sheepishly at Luca, "That'll teach me to
journey to la-la land while I'm walking somewhere."
Charm was still scolding and Promise glared at her, "Watch your MOUTH,
Charm," She scolded as she held out her arm for the little winged cat to
land on. Charm proceeded to do so then crawled up it and settled on Promise's
shoulder again, looking cranky.
Luca prepared for it, doing a bit of a dancers
spin, around her, catching and dipping her, giving Promise a smile.
"Hello, pretty one, it seems I am having a magnetic personality, no?"
Luca caught a few of the books behind him with a free hand, while still smiling
forward, this was much like the plate catching trick his mother and him had performed
two years ago while he was on summer holiday.
"Up we go." He smiles and pulled her out of the dip, his other arm
moving to place her books in her arms.
"I must be gone, but we shall meet again." He grinned, his accent
thick and rich as he laughed, a fancy, theatrical bow for Promise as he turned
and began to head off once more, a smile on his face.
Luca stopped and blinked, turning a bit to look at
Promise, something about her eyes...
He shrugged and began to run to class...
Promise smiled and shook her head slightly as the
boy ran off. She directed her smirk toward Charm, "Too bad he's jail bait,
eh?"
Charm snorted in amusement, and Promise winked then continued on toward the
castle. She was going to be late for Arithmancy if she got distracted any more.
