Hermione clicked her trunk shut and looked around the room. She was all packed for Her trip to The Burrow, the wedding, and the adventure that lay after. As she double and triple checked the room for left behind items, she realised that this would be the last time she packed up her room for the summer. The thought gave a little nostalgic tug on her heartstrings. She shook it off and piled Crookshanks' basket on top the trunk and grabbed her broom.

“C'mere Crookshanks... Here kitty-kitty! Time to go to the Weasleys where you can chase the gnomes...” At the sound of the word gnome, Crookshanks shot from under her bed and into her arms. As she had just been to the muggle mall and was in a hurry, she didn't bother change into wizarding wear. She was still in a baggy old pair of jeans her mother had bought years ago and a black t-shirt with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it. The only thing she took time to do was to tie up her hair into a messy loose ponytail to prevent ash from getting in it in the floo. “MUMMY! I'm leaving soon, so I'm coming to say good-bye!” With that she grabbed her things and levitated them down to the Den where the fireplace was. Her mother was standing at the bottom with tears shining in her eyes. “Mum, have you been watching my anime tapes again?” she asked with a slight smirk.

“Oh, but my baby is all grown up and going away again!”

Hermione sighed and returned her mother's bone crushing embrace.   “It's ok, I'll write, and I'll try to visit, and I'll send back your tupperware.”

Suddenly her mother turned serious.    “That's right! You have my tupperware! Don't you DARE let anything happen to that young lady!”

Hermione cringed and backed away in fear.  “Don't worry Mum, protection/reinforcement charms are all over the stuff as well as infinite space charms so I didn't have to bring as much. I took the old stuff so that your new stuff is safe. I'm off so gimme kiss.” Hermione demanded with a smile. Her mother complied and Hermione set a fire in the grate.

As she tossed the powder into the flames, her mother spoke again, “Honey, don't you want to wear a different pair of trainers? Those a re sooo old!”

”Arrgh! Mummy, these are comfortable. I like them, and they fit me.” Hermione wiggled her feet under her jeans, displaying an old pair of black All Stars with treble clefts, notes, and song pictures doodled on the white toes. The bottoms were patched with duct tape, but they were comfy.

”Yes but sweetheart, they have writing and duct tape on them.”

Hermione just sighed. ”No more about my shoes Mum,” Hermione muttered as she stepped into the lukewarm green fire. “The Burrow!” And with that, she went spinning through the grates. I hate this... she thought anxiously as she reached up and yanked Crookshank's basket from where it was flying away from her trunk.

As she was spat out into the Weasley fireplace, she was greeted by a screeching cacophany that took some time to discern as Ginny and Fleur arguing. Smiling as she dusted herself off, she called out to Ginny.

“GIN! I'm heeeree! Come hug me! I have stuff!” She soon felt one of her best girl friends race toward her full impact and tug her off up the stairs.

Once in Ginny's room, Hermione opened her trunk to display her loot. “Ok, so I have German Chocolate cake, cookies, cupcakes, waffle cookies that actually taste like waffles, brownies and tiramisu. How much do ya love me right now?” She asked with a grin awaiting Ginny's answer once the drool stopped.

"You could never understand how much I love you right now," Ginny said, grinning from ear to ear, "Which should I try first, Tiramisu or the cupcakes?" I asked, eyeing the food happily.

“Well, seeing as how I heart my Tiramisu, I'd say that!' Hermione told her with a grin.

"Good plan," Ginny said, reaching for the Tiramisu and cutting off a piece of it before realizing that she didn't have a plate. Ginny reached for a stack of napkins on her dresser and stuck a piece on that, smushing the topping a little, but taking a bite, "Will you be joining me Hermione? This is...amazing." Ginny finished, taking another bite of the tiramisu. It really was excellent. There was neither too much coffee nor too little.

“Course I'm joining you!” With a laugh Hermione locked the door lest Fleur Phlegm tried to barge in and stop them.

Ginny smiled and raised the tiramisu as if in toast, "Wonderful. To Hermione, for bringing me food," Ginny raised it and then brought it back to her mouth and took another bite with a laugh.

Hermione lifted her own fork to return the toast and took a huge bite. “So I'm thinking of just plain cornering Ron and asking him flat out,” she said around a mouthful of goodness. “Would that work?  Cause obviously, subtlety doesn't.”

"Hmm," Ginny thought, taking a bite of the tiramisu, "I think it would work better than subtlety, though it might make him nervous," she said.  "Though, if he does like you, which he does, he'll get past it and it'll work out."
