Several weeks had passed
since his visit to Malfoy manor, but something about that portrait still had
him bothered. Part of him considered making a second 'official' raid of the
domicile and as much as the Minister would support this, Arthur didn't want to
see the information flashed accross the cover of the Daily Prophet for all to
see, once again. It wouldn't do for the Malfoys to know (or even suspect) that
he had found something. So, after a particularly tasty dinner of roast
pheasant, Arthur turned his wife, his usual convincing grin pasted accross his
lips.
"Mollywobbles, are you still interested in helping out with this Malfoy
matter?"
"Of course, Arthur," said Molly,
giving him a bracing smile. "Just let me clean this up first."
Arthur watched as his wife busied herself about
the kitchen, not at all realizing that it would be polite to offer to help, but
simply appreciating the sight of her. Sometimes he was just overwhelmed with
how much he cared for her. Finally she sat back down across from him, and
Arthur sighed before beginning. "I want to do another search of the manor
. . . tonight."
Molly finished up and smoothed her apron before
untying it. "I suppose that's good enough," she announced.
"Alright, Arthur, we can apparate from the garden. Do I need to bring
anything?"
Arthur shook his head; he didn't think anything
would be needed. "We have to be careful when apparating, there's a rather
unusual charm preventing unexpected arrivals." Arthur stood up and
unconsciously took his wife's arm as they headed out to the garden. "I
think I've found a way around it, but we still must be cautious." He
smiled. "Just hold tight to me, and you should be fine." He held fast
to Molly's arm as the two concentrated upon the Manor and he felt the ground
disappear from beneath his feet.
