Seamus awoke to the sounds of Harry, Ron, and Dean getting ready for the day. He sat up and pulled the curtains back from his bed, rubbing his forehead sleepily. 'What's the noise,' he thought. His arms flopped to his sides, as it dawned at him.

"Oh yeah, school started.” He looked at Harry. "I forgot people were awake at this hour."

He silenty dressed and made his way down the stairs to the Gryffindor Common Room. Out throught the portrait hole, and down the corridor to the moving stairs. The early morning light shining through the windows woke him up quickly, and he walked into the great hall with a smile on his face.

Seamus stopped at the entrance, looking down the Gryffindor table for anyone he knew. Someone stood up at their spot and waved over at him.

Neville had gotten up earlier than anyone else in the dormitory. The nightmare he'd had several times throughout the summer had not stopped coming to haunt him in his sleep, and he often found himself sleeping only enough hours to get him through the day. He would go to bed as late as possible and get up as early as possible. But somehow these nightmares never managed to kill his cheerful nature.

He was in the Great Hall, just about ready to start breakfast when he saw Seamus walk in. He got up out of his seat and waved to him.
"Hi Seamus!" he called across the room. "Care to join me? I'd love to hear more about your trip!"

Seamus smiled and walked briskly to the table. "Oy, Neville!" He said, sitting next to him and immediately shoveling eggs onto his plate.
"My trip went great. It's a lot different in the United States, but a good different.  We stayed in Michigan; it's really beautiful there. Stayed in a nice, small town called Kalamazoo. I was hoping to see places like New York or Chicago, but Kalamazoo was very nice. Full of Witches and Wizards.  How about you, how was the rest of your summer?"

Neville didn't quite know how to answer Seamus's question. He thought about all of the things that happened to him over the summer. He had an encounter with Draco Malfoy and his fellow Death Eaters, he'd had the same nightmare over and over again, Harry had told him that the prophecy could have applied to him, and Draco's wand had been stolen from Neville's bedroom, possibly by Dennis Creevey under the Imperius curse.

"The rest of my summer... well, all I can say is that I am glad that it's over, and that I'm back at Hogwarts with my friends. How about yours? What did you do after you got back from the United States?"

"Oh, it was okay. A bit boring, actually. After the wedding I had nothing to do until school started. I talked a bit with Promise, but that's pretty much it. I'm so glad to be back here though. It should be a very interesting year.  Hard to believe that it’s our last."

"I know," replied Neville. "These years have gone by so fast, I can't believe it."  He took a bite of sausage before continuing.  "So do you know what you're gonna do when you're done with school?"

"I'm not really sure," Seamus replied. He gazed out the window for a moment, as the fact hit him that he didn't know what he wanted to do.

"I've never really thought about it." He smiled sheepishly. "I guess its something I should figure out soon."

"I think we are all trying to figure things out, Seamus. I still don't know what I want to do. We'll probably have to each go back to McGonagall's office at some point this year for more career counseling. I do know that I want to work with plants though!"
