Ginny was looking through her trunk for a quill, almost late for Transfiguration, and sifting through some of the objects she'd confiscated the day before. She hadn't had an opportunity to take them to McGonagall outside of class yet, so after she came across a quill and stuffed it into her bag, she started to bundle up the confiscated items.

Wrapping the joke items from her brothers shop (and keeping a few to send back or use herself) in her bag, she found the suspicious looking modeling clay, which seemed bigger than usual and sort of puffed up in the middle, still sparking as it had before. She decided it was best not to touch it, picking it up with a washcloth and stuffing into her bag between a few books as it squished its way in.

Ginny heard a pop and opened her bag just a little bit to see what it was, before she saw a flash of light.  She pulled her head away from the bag before the suspicious clay exploded.

Hermione was sitting in the common room when she heard a loud explosion like sound coming from the girls’ dorm. It scared her to death, so she jumped up and ran into the girls’ dorm to find the room filled with smoke and Ginny standing next to a blown up bag and some books that had chunks blown out of them. Coughing from all the smoke Hermione managed to get out a "GINNY WHAT HECK HAPPENED TO YOU?"

Ginny sort of sputtered for a moment, "I... I dunno...bag exploded" She started, looking at Hermione a little out of focus before stumbling backwards and falling to a sitting position on the bed, clutching her arm.

"Okay, it doesn’t matter what happened right now. You can tell me later. Right now I’m going to take you down to the common room and have a look at your arm and then get someone if I have to. Don’t worry about this mess.  I’ll clean it. I’ll fix your books too. What class are you supposed to be in?" she asked Ginny all these questions without even realizing she probably couldn’t even answer them "Nevermind. Tell me later," she said as she helped Ginny up from the bed and down the stairs into the common room.

Ginny stumbled down to the common room with some help from Hermione, looking at her badly singed arm before deciding that she really didn't want to see it after all. "I'm sorry," she said, though she didn't really know why she was sorry. She felt like a little kid who'd just done something stupid and left someone else with the mess.

"Don’t be sorry, Ginny. It wasn’t your fault…" Hermione thought about what she had just said because she didn’t really know if it was Ginny’s fault or not. "I mean, I don’t really know why your bag exploded just yet but -- wait! Was it that thing you told me about at breakfast? Oh man. It was." So many thoughts were racing through Hermione’s head right now, she just needed to think of what to do first " Okay," she said as she took a look at Ginny’s arm, "You probably don’t want to go to the hospital wing because you might not be able to explain to her what happened so... I think I have something that will help." Hermione ran up the stairs and halfway there she said "Ginny don’t worry about anything at all...okay? I have everything under control... I don’t have any homework or anything so don’t worry about it." She went into her the dorm and went through her trunk looking for her first aid kit. When she finally found it, she ran downstairs and began cleaning Ginny’s arm and put a bandage on it. "Good thing mother and father got this for me before I left. I would have never known that I would have needed it."

Giny nodded distractedly, not completely sure what was going on but knowing that her arm hurt quite a lot and that now there was a bandage on it. That was nice, she supposed. But her arm still hurt. "Thank you," she said, willing herself not to look at her arm or the bandage wrapped around it. She wondered a little bit if she should talk to Madame Pomfrey when she felt a little better to see if there was more she should do for it, but smiled softly at her friend, still clutching her arm.

Hermione was not very satisfied with her bandaging skills so she just decided to do something else and deal with the consequences later. "Okay, I’m taking you to the Hospital wing... you don’t look too good."

"You know," Ginny replied, leaning against one of the larger couches in the common room, "That's funny, because I really don't feel too good either. Maybe we should go to the Hospital wing."

"Yeah I kinda figured you didn’t feel well. What class are you supposed to be in right now? "

"Transfiguration," Ginny replied, looking miserably at her arm again.

"I guess we’ll just tell Madame Pomfrey to write you a note. Let’s go," Hermione insisted. She helped Ginny walk whenever she seemed to stumble until they finally got to the Hospital Wing. She explained to Madame Pomfrey what happened and then left Ginny, so she could go quickly clean the dorm and write a letter to her parents thanking them for the first-aid kit.

Luca ran down the hallway, already running late for Potions class, not even bothering to get back into the expected class attire, taking his tie out of his pocket, and knotting it around a bicep.

He hurried as fast as he could, and turned a corner to crash into Hermione, sending his parchment and books flying. Luca flew back, spreading his hands and pulling himself into a handstand, leaning back and righting himself, glad for his training in the family Carnival. He hopped up, forehead covered in sweat from the mad dash and looked at Hermione.

"It is the Ms. Granger again, yes? I am most sorry! Are you alright?" He sputtered frantically, kneeling a bit and backing away.

He gathered his books and papers and stood there, a brash example of one student against what he felt was an overbearing dress code, no cloak, scuffed shoed, tie on arm and enough charms on his neck to give Hermione thoughts to her few days in Divination.

"I am most apologetic, but my repaying my debt of discourtesy and rudeness, may I repay you in the later time? I am already late for my Potions class, not that I don’t already know the basics they are teaching us... I have been mixing since I was a small one, you see..."

Luca blushed, he was babbling once more.  He bowed once again, light glinting off his earring.
