Draco fidgeted behind the tree. It was far enough away from the main festivities to be private, but close enough it would not seem like he was skulking. At least that's what he hoped. He played with his hood, pulling it up then down and back again and finally down, then he pulled the glasses off and on. Finally, he left the hood down and the glasses on, and forced himself to stop pacing. He turned to face the lake and checked his now black hair to make sure it was in order.

Ginny approched the black-haired person, noting as she walked up that he had dark hair and glasses, but didn't look quite like Harry. Getting closer, she wasn't completely sure she knew who it was at all. "Hello?" She called, advancing on the person.

Draco turned around, not entirely sure that was Ginny's voice. "Hi," he said, making sure he had his hands where she could see them.

Ginny looked at him for a moment - he looked like someone she knew, but she couldn't place him. "Do I know..." She started to ask. She knew she was giving him a really weird, searching look, but after a moment, it struck her. "Malfoy? Is that you?"

Draco couldn't help a small smirk. "Can't fool you, Red," he said amicably. "But um...could we keep voices down for a minute? I don't really want to announce myself."

Ginny furrowed her eyebrows a little in surprise at the behavior of their unexpected guest, "Never in a million years. Though for a second, you looked like Harry," she responded with a hint of a laugh on the edge of her voice, lowering it as requested, "Sure... um, so, what are you doing here?"

Draco felt a huge wave of relief. "I've got a message," he said and fished in his pockets for the small piece of parchment. He held it out to Ginny. "It's for Potter. Only for Potter's eyes. After it's read, preferably not aloud, it'll burst into flames, so you might want to warn him." Ginny looked ready to reach for the parchment, but Draco pulled it back. "Do you really think he can do it?...Kill Voldemort? Do you really think he's the chosen one?"

She gave the bit of parchment an appraising glance, "I'll give it to him. And I won't read it, or anything. And make sure to warn him; you must be so disappointed," she joked, before adding, "Do you know who it's from?" despite the fact that she knew it wasn't really her business, she felt tempted to ask. Ginny reached out to grab the parchment, eyeing it with a curious glimmer in her brown eyes, but Draco pulled it away. "I don't know about the chosen one, or that 'the chosen one' is really anyone... but I don't doubt for a second that he can do it." She responded loyally.

"It's from me," Draco said, holding the parchment back out to her. "Tell Potter when he's ready he's there."

"Oh, alright," Ginny nodded, accepting the parchment though she was a little suspicious of it, "He... as in Voldemort?" Ginny replied, reluctant to believe it more because she didn't want to than anything.

"No, he as in Father Christmas," Draco said with a roll of his eyes. His expression changed, and he reached out suddenly and grabbed Ginny's hand. "Ginny, if you tell anyone that I gave this to you, I'm a dead man. Please, keep between us."

"He's a little early, then," Ginny started before she felt Draco grab her hand, looking anxious, "Not even Harry?" she asked, wondering if she couldn't even tell the boy the note was intended for.

"Harry can't do Occlumency, Ginny," Draco said. "And Voldemort is most skilled Legilimens in the world. Please, the fewer people who know the better."

"Oh, I guess you're right," Ginny trailed off, remembering the episode during her fourth year and Harry's fifth. She looked into his eyes solemnly and nodded, resolved, "I won't tell anyone, not even Harry. This note... can I ask him what it says, or is it really just for him?"

Draco frowned thoughtfully. His hand was still gripping Ginny's though he seemed to have forgotten it. "I'll leave that up to him, but you'll be safer if he doesn't. There is something you should ask him though. Send the reply to me without the question if you can...ask him if he's figured out what a Horcrux is."

Ginny nodded vaguely, considering his words and not the fact that Draco still had a firm hold on her hand, "I'll take that into consideration, then. Though I suppose no one is really safe anymore," she gave him a curious look, "What's that? Figured out what what is?"

"A Horcrux," Draco repeated. "Another word you should never put in an owl. If Potter hasn't figured it out, I'll get him the answer somehow. Actually, don't put his answer in an owl either. I'll find out next time I see you, but it's important that he knows before he tries to face him."

Horcrux... The term sounded like she might have heard it before in whispers that she wasn't meant to hear. "Ah, alright... so do you know what it is, then? Next time you see me?" She asked, realizing that she probably wouldn't get the answer to at least one of her questions, "I'll ask him. And not owl you the answer."

Draco laughed, "You know you talk just like you post." He paused. "Let's just say I can get Potter the answer if he doesn't have it. And I couldn't tell you when I'll see you again, because I haven't the foggiest. But I will...unless you don't want me to." His hand twitched over hers, though he still didn't remove it.

Ginny smirked sardonically, "You mean that it's very disjointed and confusing?" she asked, making fun of herself before he had a chance to: a habit she'd developed from having six older brothers. "Alright, I guess I'll talk to him about it. Ask him, rather, and not tell you. But that will work for me, and I want you to see me again," She backtracked, not sure how that sounded, "I mean, I don't not want you to." She clarified, barely aware of the feeling of his hand twitching on hers.

"Right," Draco said, only looking slightly confused. He released her hand. "Thanks. I guess I better go. Just remember that I wasn't here." He frowned at his own sentence.

"Yeah," Ginny replied, crossing her arms over her chest and remembering her former embarrassment about wearing the dress, "No problem. I guess you're right, it would be a problem if anyone recognize you. Does anyone even know you're here besides me?"

Draco couldn't help smirking at Ginny's sudden self-consciousness. He honestly hadn't noticed how low the dress was cut until she crossed her arms over it. He shook his head. "Best to keep it that way...I like the dress by the way. Blue was a good choice."

Ginny nodded, "You're right, if anyone knew, and I do mean anyone..." she trailed off, turning slightly pink when he complimented her dress, "Oh, thanks, I guess it was," she muttered, looking down at the top of the dress for a moment.

Draco smiled and decided this was as good a note to leave on as any. "See you around, Red," he said. He took a step towards the lake and with a pop he was gone.

Demelza found Ginny standing toward the back of the yard. "Hey, Ginny!" she said.

Ginny jumped, not having seen her coming, and quickly tried to think of a place to stash her note. There were no pockets in her gown, obviously, or holes in her shoe, so she stuffed it in the front of the weird sort of girdle that Fleur had shoved the bridesmaids into and turned around to great her, "Hey!" She said cheerily, looking at Demelza.
