Personality:Molly is known as a strong woman, and she can be both very outgoing, and very shy. She is motherly in nature, and will take anyone she views as in need of a mother (or another one!) under her wing and nurture him or her with her love and kindness. She cares deeply for her husband and children, and loves them all beyond words. She takes pride in the fact that she has a very strong relationship with her husband, as well as her children. She has a temper that is quick and easy to rise, as all of her family knows. She is able to let some things slide, but she quickly reaches her breaking point, and when she does, she is able to have a go at the latest rule-breaker or offender for hours if need be.Family:Husband Arthur and seven children.Levicorpus History (beyond the Lexicon) :Molly was born on October 30, 1950, in London, where she grew up with her parents, Harold and Elizabeth, and her twin older brothers, Fabian and Gideon Prewett. Fabian and Gideon protected their baby sister to the best of their ability, especially after she started dating, something Molly admits she was grateful for. Her brothers were always there for her, even when her parents weren’t, and she was devastated when she learned of their deaths when she was five months pregnant with her youngest child and only daughter, Ginny. Her mother was a Ravenclaw, and her father was a Slytherin, one of the few who managed to escape becoming enraptured with the Dark Arts. However, both of her parents, mostly her father, had high aspirations for their only daughter, by way of marriage. As a result, Molly was handed a list of ‘pre-approved’ boys when she was thirteen by her parents, and given strict orders to decline any offers from boys that were not on said list. For the most part, the list consisted of boys who came from high-status families like the Prewetts. Before her fifth year, after involving herself in relationships she didn’t particularly want to be in for starters, Molly decided she was sick of trying to please her parents and find someone to fulfill their requirement of ‘marrying well’. When she arrived at Hogwarts for her fifth year, she effectively tucked the list into the bottom of her trunk and vowed to not even look at it for the entire school year and see if she could find happiness on her own, without her parents’ approval. That year, she realized something was different about a fellow Gryffindor and friend, Arthur Weasley, in a good way and they began courting.Overall, she was an above-average student at Hogwarts, excelling in Potions and Transfiguration. As a result of her marks, she was accepted into a position at St. Mungo's before she graduated, and until she became pregnant with Bill in 1971, she worked as a potion master. Even though she was sorted into Gryffindor, there were times she felt like she didn't belong there, as she had never been one who felt particularly brave when faced with life-threatening situations or any dangerous situations for that matter. After school, in the summer of 1968, she married Arthur, much to her parents’ disappointment. As a result, she was cast from the family fold, and was welcomed with open arms into Arthur’s. Fabian and Gideon supported her marriage to Arthur, as they believed she deserved to be happy on her terms, and they gave the newlyweds their current home, The Burrow, as a wedding present. She and Arthur didn’t get involved with the first war with Voldemort because they were concentrating on raising their family, which grew to include seven children, six boys and one girl. Between her second and third children, Molly suffered two miscarriages, the first one occurring during the fourth month of pregnancy when Charlie was just shy of a year old, mere days after she had felt the first real movement in the womb. She was devastated, as was her husband, but together they grieved properly and within a year, she was pregnant again. This new pregnancy survived three months, and Molly and Arthur came to an agreement that they would try again after Charlie’s second birthday. When Molly became pregnant again, this time with her third son, Percy, the pregnancy was normal, but Percy was born six weeks early, and Molly considers him her miracle child, as the Healers gave him a small chance of survival, but to her relief, after only a week in the intensive care unit, Percy was able to join his parents and his two older brothers at home. When she became pregnant again with her twins, she was nervous about the birth, because of what had happened with Percy and the fact that she had nearly died herself, due to complications during labor and delivery. She hopes one day she will be able to tell Percy about his beginning, and give him some insight as to how close she has kept him to her heart over the years. When the second war with Voldemort arose, Molly was more than happy to join in the fight, if only because she had more to lose the second time around than she had lost the first time. The deaths of her parents, brothers, and best friend Marlene who she viewed almost as a sister, during the first war played a major part in her decision to join the Order of the Phoenix in the fight against Voldemort in the second war. She is much happier now that Percy has rejoined the family, but she still worries that her family will make it through this war unscathed as they did the first time. Molly Scene by Scene: |
